Day 22: Is it Halloween Yet?


Even though I'll be working, I can't wait for Halloween! I will sort of be cheating cuz I'm going to bake some Halloween goodies for the family and work....and you know I have to have some. XD lol But I think as long as I continue my routine of going to the gym, I'll somehow burn it off. :D I HOPE I burn it off. hehehe.... So I haven't been posting as much but I'm still trying to watch my self when I eat. I just came back from the gym so at least I feel good that I managed to go. I even jogged for 5 mins straight! And then another 2 mins. That made me feel good! :P It just has been a busy week for me. Went to two interviews and got my second job and went to Blizzcon to meet up with guild buddies and friends. So here I am starting another week. I weighed in and I'm still at 184 but at least I haven't gained anything :P lol Always look for the silver lining! I'm going to try to go to Zumba tomorrow. I have to write down the names of these songs because they are awesome!

Day 16: Strength Training Kicked My Butt!


Hello again! Zumba was fun as always but since I recently came back to the gym, I had to skip one of the songs cuz it was too much for me. And today I tried out this Strength Training class and MAN I felt sick. I ate before and tried to drink as much water as I can but I still had to take a breather. I'm still going back cuz I need to. I just have to make my body get used to this again :P lol I haven't been writing down what I've eaten in a while. Half of it is cuz I've cheated...most of it. It's hard to avoid the chocolate chip cookies your boyfriend made when they're sitting right there and you're feeling snackish. I do try to watch what I eat in the morning and lunch time. It's the dinner times I have trouble watching. I just have to tell myself to keep going and try to stop myself from snacking the bad snacks...or just stop all together. :P lol Here's hoping! Day 15: Rain, rain, rain...

Had an easy day at work yesterday. All I did was stock the shelves and managed to talk to a few customers that walked in. Went to another interview today for Coach and it went well. Crossing my fingers and hoping I get it...plus juggle two jobs. :D lol I so need the cash. Haven't been logging what I have eaten lately but I know I'm kind of watching myself. I have slipped a few times but I know I can get back on track. Today had a shake and granola bar but when I got home I had a mini quesadilla :P lol Haven't gone to the gym yet cuz it's Zumba day and that class starts at 7pm. I hope I get to see those two women I met at the gym last time. I'm so out of shape for that class! lol! I might get a cramp in my mid-section from all the dancing. I just hope I still have the energy to go. It's been raining and it sometimes brings my mood down. Makes me not want to do anything...except maybe sleep. lol Anyway....ttyl!

Day 13: Plus the Other Days I Missed


WOW! I've been bad and not posting at least once everyday like I should. :( Oh well.... Time to make it up! Went to the gym on Thursday and meet up with these two wonderful women that were so much fun! ^^ They were mother and daughter and they just started going to the gym. I gave them some tips that I learned and they were very grateful. I would too! lol Free personal trainer advice! :P Well I convinced them to try the Zumba class which is REALLY fun and a workout. It's just dance moves to Spanish dance music which I LOVE. :D So I'm going to meet them there on Tuesday. I suggest ANYONE to try Zumba. It's way more fun than an aerobics class.

That same night Mike and I went to Lenscrafters and got our eyes checked. We both got new glasses (mine were like 3 years old :P) and I got contacts finally! I probably shouldn't have since I really am broke (or getting to the point of eating Ramen everyday for a few months) but Mike helped me out and he told me that I needed them so I did. Yay for credit cards! :/ He did take me out to eat dinner and for the first time...I couldn't eat all of my plate! I was really stuffed! And I didn't eat much that day! It was great yet sad....cuz it was really good food. :P lol

Friday I didn't go to the gym but went up to Hesperia with Mike to get some car parts. He ended up getting car parts and another junkie car. Oh well... It makes him money. :P lol Saturday I hung out with my friend Marissa and had a picnic! I love picnics! It was really fun. ^^ And then her mom invited me to dinner at El Torito. It was really sweet of them. All and all it was a fun day. I need to call up other friends and see when we can hang out. I miss all of you! :(

And for today, it's laundry and cleaning up the house a bit...mostly wash dishes, vacuum the floors and mop. I'm planning on making fajitas tonight with those spice recipe packs you can buy at the store. So far, all the ones I have bought were really good. Anyway, I'll talk with you later!

Day 10: Feeling Sleeeepy

Today I had to wake up but-ass early to be the first one at the clinic for a check-up. I'm glad I did cuz I was out of there in like an hour. But when I got home, I started to get so tired that I decided to take a nap. Well I woke up now. Still a bit drowsy but drinking some soda to see if I can wake up. I didn't go to the gym but I need to do some laundry in the house and later Mike and I are going for eye exams. I hope I can get my contacts! Mike is helping me get them so yay! :D And then we're going to grab dinner over there. I might try to convince him to go to Applebee's cuz they have a lot of good choices there....plus I haven't eaten there in a long while. :P TTYL!

Day 9: And Feelin' Fine


Made an awesome dinner of chicken, green beans and....Garlic Rosemary Mashed Potatoes. Oh my God it was delicious! They're my new favorite mashed potatoes. I love garlic potatoes but when you add the rosemary and thyme...mmmmm goood! I suggest everyone to try them. Simply irresistible! And back to the logging :P No exercise today. Took a break.

End of Day 8: Trader Joe's vs. $$$

I love Trader Joe's but sometimes it can be expensive. I love that all the food is natural and most of it is healthy (stay away from the cocoa almonds!), but the prices can add up. I would love to buy the meats but 10 bucks for a few ounces?? Ouch. I mostly buy the snacks. I LOVE the flatbread and hummus...MMMM.... And I did have their orange and teriyaki chicken which was also delicious. For some reason I also like their cheese puffs and crunchies. :P Well, didn't have any of that tonight but had some frozen PF Chang's Brocolli and Beef and it was bomb! If you want to try the PF Chang's frozen meals, go for it! It was really good. My rice didn't come out the way I wanted but it was still good. :P Alrighty, here's my log in for today:

Sharing the Love...and Food!


Since I'm trying to lose weight, I think it will be fun if I shared any recipes I've done so if anyone out there is going for the same goal, they can try them out and share their recipes too! ^^ One that Mike and I tried was this one:


I added a wee bit more of a few spices, but it came out very flavorful and delicious. ^^ Pair it up with some rice and/or green veggies and it's a meal! I think the calories per serving is 294 which is not bad. :P Especially if you add veggies to it. For my veggie/vegan friends, the spices on the potatoes alone was really good. So if anything, you can make the potatoes and add it to your dish. :D

Day 7 & 8: Forgot to Post :P

I lost 2 pounds!!! Woot! Here's to another week! Let's see if I can drop some more by the end of October. I forgot to post yesterday but I weighed myself and lost 2 pounds! I'm making Mondays my weigh-in day. Had some Trader Joe's orange chicken and it's reeeeally good! Made some white rice to go with it and it was delicious. :D We ate earlier than are usual time of 7:00 plus so I ended up getting snackish later. I'm sorry! Pumpkin pie Pop-tarts were calling me! It's sad how many calories are in a pack :/ But they were actually good. :D I'm a sucker for pumpkin pie. Oh Thanksgiving is going to kill me.... lol

Day 7: Feeling Sick Sucks!

Today I woke up completely groggy, one nostril stuffed up, coughing and sneezing. Took some Dayquil throughout the day so I managed to feel better. I just hope it goes away quick. Drank some OJ and Airborne...not counting the OJ calories. :P I actually didn't count my calories at all today since I've been feeling lazy with this cold. I know, bad me. :P lol But hopefully I'll feel much better tomorrow so I can get back in the swing of things! Night!

Day 6: Break time!

Today I decided to take a break from the gym only because I'm still feeling the cold bug creeping in. :( I'm actually fine now but woke up all groggy and my throat was bothering me. So that's why I decided to stay home. Still trying to watch what I eat. I'm making apple and sage pork chops tonight so let's see how that goes. :P lol I want to have it with wild rice, but if Mike's mom is going to have some then I think it's safer to go with the traditional mash potatoes and corn. :) Or green beans....not sure which yet. TTYL!

End of Day 5: Feeling tired but good :)

I worked out my abs (hopefully :P) and legs today. I also tried out their jacuzzi which was really nice. When I got home i was too tired and asked Mike if he wanted to take me out on a cheap date. :P And then he humorously went off about him working on this tractor and waiting for some guy to show up... Well I felt a bit annoyed cuz we had a rule that if someone cooked, the other cleaned. Yeah.......I was cooking AND cleaning for a while lately :P lol And I was too tired to clean the dishes AND cook....again. So I went out there and asked him when he wanted to eat. And he tells me whenever I wanted. So I replied, "Well no it's up to you cuz we eat when you clean the dishes." And again his smartass replies about working outside blah blah.... lol! So we went to Baker's instead! :D I don't mind cleaning the dishes especially when he has homework to do. I just didn't want to do BOTH today. :P

We ordered at Baker's and I forgot to order a side salad. :S So here comes the fries! But I have such a nice boyfriend who ate my fries mixed with his. I just ate a few. Go me! lol! So here's my log for today:

Day 5: Under the Weather

Woke up today with like this weird sensation in my throat. I'm sniffling a bit but I feel okay....for now. I just hope I don't get sick. I hate getting sick. But I feel okay so I'm going to try to go to the gym again after lunch. Yesterday, I didn't go into the jacuzzi cuz in my hurry...I forgot my sandals. :P Yeah I could go barefoot, but do I want to risk getting whatever other people have on their feet? Naaahh. Since I wasn't able to log in my food/exercise yesterday, here it is:

So not sure if it's accurate, but I did some exercise so I think I'm okay. :P As long as I'm losing...even if it's a pound a week! Oh and the chicken came out yummy! I followed those spice recipe card things from McCormmick. I suggest you try them and you can always doctor it up or use other spices if you like :P I added a dash more of salt and pepper, garlic powder and sprinkled lightly some rosemary leaves on the chicken to bake. And I do mean just a dash. I didn't want to over do it. :P Anyway... See ya later!

Day 4: Not too sore anymore!

I woke up today feeling less sore so I'm gonna try to head out to the gym. I'm going to try to stretch like my friends say and I might hop into the jacuzzi they have there. My orientation at my new job went well. It's making me want to start working there already! lol But they're so slow right now that I'm not schedule for next week at all and who knows the following week after that. :/ She did promise that come Black Friday, hours are definitely going to pick up. But we wait and see. :P

I would have done a food log for yesterday but when I got home and ate dinner (cuz I was STARVING!), Mike was using BOTH computers for his homework. -__- I know I didn't eat much in calories. Before I went to work, I ate 600 cal. It was supposed to be a 4 hour day but it turned into 5 and I didn't bring a snack, so I was hungry. Didn't make soup cuz I didn't want to wait long (I make it from scratch :P). So I got Chinese take out. I was bad but not really! I always here Broccoli and Beef is WAY better for you and it's my favorite dish. ^^ But I had chow mein with it :P lol But I was a good girl and was stuffed! So here I go, running to get rid of the yummy Chinese food calories. :D TTYL!

Day 3: Start My New Job!

Woke up today SOOOOORE as hell! I can't straighten my left arm that well. It huuuurts. :( So I decided not to go to the gym and see if I can rest up for tomorrow. Started off drinking a shake. Those shakes are actually tasty. :P lol At least the chocolate ones. The cheapest place to buy them is at Sam's Club.

Since it's been cold over here, I've been thinking about making some broccoli and cheese soup. I found a recipe in a cookbook and it's delicious! Even Mike's mom loves it! :D Maybe I'll get the ingredients before I start my job, prep the stuff and make it when I get home. I only work 4 hours today but that's fine. I'm just excited that I was able to land at least a seasonal job. This is the best time to look! I wonder how many calories that soup is going to have :/ lol I'm gonna try to find low fat ingredients...if they're on sale. :P

So here I am and it's the end of the day. I was a little bad today. Maybe more so. But it's interesting how you don't know what you consume everyday until you actually write it down. It's hard when you're working out and because of it you're hungry even more :P lol But it's for good reasons. Better to feel hungry cuz you worked out than not do anything today. :P Here's my log:

Day 2: And still going...

Well woke up today and had me a Slim-fast shake and a granola bar. I messed up yesterday cuz the shake is actually 190 cal. :P But anywho, I went to the gym and did my workout. I'm surprised that after 2 months or maybe even more of not working out I managed to actually jog on the treadmill! My past trainer made me walk on the treadmill for like a minute then run for a minute. She always told me to push myself so I managed to stay jogging for 2 1/2 minutes! Yeah I know sounds small but when you're the person who has NEVER ran before in her life....that's a step up :P lol I did the one minute on/off thing yesterday and lasted a little longer than today. My stomach cramped up a bit today so I didn't want to get sick or hurt myself. But gotta keep going!

Had Subway for lunch and now for much needed shower! Gonna go buy some shoes and maybe pants for my new job which I start tomorrow!!! ^^

First Post! Intro to My Madness

Okay... So I was inspired by the movie "Julie & Julia" to make a goal, set a deadline and blog about it. So here I am. I decided that my goal will be something that I have been dying to achieve for quite some time and that is losing weight. I want to lose weight because I want to fit in my clothes better and lower my cholesterol. I'm also going to add exercise because I want to have the energy, strength and flexibility back.

My goal is 30-40 lbs in 6 months! Not sure if I can reach 40 but if I make it past 30, I'll be a happy camper. My height is 5'5" and what I'm supposed to be weighing is 140 to 135 lbs. I'm going to start going to the gym 5 days out of the week, eat 1500 calories and burn 700 calories on the cardio machines. My personal trainer from before said if I burn 3500 calories a week, I lose a pound a week. So here's hoping!

I will be logging what I ate with calories I consumed, exercises I did with calories burned and anything else that comes my way. Example for today:

FOOD LOG:
  • Slim-fast shake - 200 cal
  • Sandwich (turkey, cheese, bread only) - 220 cal
  • Granola bar - 90 cal
  • 3 pita breads - 390 cal
  • Hummus (2 tbs) - 75 cal
